The Light Metro Rail Transit (LRT), also known as “the yellow line“  is a convenient way for people to go around Metro Manila. Its tracks and stations runs to various cities like Quezon City, Caloocan, Manila, and Pasay.  There are 22 stations and these are:

  1. Baclaran
  2. Taft Avenue
  3. Libertad
  4. Gil Puyat
  5. Vito Cruz
  6. Quirino
  7. Pedro Gil
  8. United Nations Avenue
  9. Central Terminal
  10. Carriedo
  11. Doroteo Jose
  12. Bambang
  13. Tayuman
  14. Blumentritt
  15. Abad Santos
  16. R. Papa
  17. 5th Avenue
  18. Monumento
  19. Malvar (not yet in operation)
  20. Balintawak
  21. Roosevelt
  22. North Avenue (not yet in operation)

Each stop usually takes  3-5 minutes but you must consider the queuing time (queue can eat most of your time especially during rush hours). Also consider the security check-up before you buy tickets or alight trains.

Fare will cost you around ₱12 to ₱20 from Roosevelt Avenue Station to Baclaran Station.  You can buy stored value tickets at ₱100 each OR single entry tickets for single use.  LRT is open from 5AM to 10:30PM on weekdays – last trip at Baclaran departs 9:30PM while last trip at Monumento departs 10PM on regular operation.  LRT is open 5AM to 10:00PM on weekends last trip at Baclaran departs 9PM while last trip at Monumento departs 9:30PM on regular operation.  Operation time may change depending on the announcement made by the management during holidays or other events.
